DMK Enzyme Therapy — Clinical Skin Revision in Huntington Beach
Rebuild. Strengthen. Transform.
DMK Enzyme Therapy restores your skin from within. These treatments activate circulation, firm muscles, and correct the skin’s structure at a cellular level for true, lasting transformation.
Agnes Beauty & Wellness is one of only spas in Orange County offering certified DMK Enzyme Therapy — a clinical skin revision system that works at the cellular level to retrain how your skin actually functions. Unlike a facial, which works on the surface, DMK works beneath it — changing the biology of your skin rather than temporarily improving how it looks.
Agnes Grumslys, CA Licensed Cosmetologist #A330955, completed her DMK certification under Chelsea, DMK's own Senior Account Manager and Educator — one of the most direct and rigorous training pathways available within the DMK system. She has been performing DMK for over five years, working through hundreds of sessions across diverse skin types and conditions.
DMK Enzyme Therapy — Level 1
$275 · New clients require a consultation before booking
Level 1 is the essential starting point for every DMK client. This is the foundational treatment that introduces your skin to the enzyme system — assessing how your skin responds and establishing the cellular baseline from which all future DMK work is built.
The session begins with a thorough skin analysis and deep cleanse, followed by an exfoliating thermal gel that prepares the skin for enzyme absorption. A Vitamin C serum supports collagen stimulation. Then the enzyme mask is applied — hardening over 45 minutes while the reverse osmosis process activates.
When the mask is removed, the Plasmatic Effect becomes visible — a temporary roadmap of pink and reddish capillary lines showing exactly where fresh blood and oxygen have flooded the skin. It fades within 30 minutes and leaves behind a visible glow, improved texture, and a level of oxygenation that cannot be replicated by any topical product.

DMK Muscle Banding — Level 2
$300 · Requires prior DMK Level 1 experience
DMK Muscle Banding is an advanced treatment available to clients who have already experienced DMK Level 1 Enzyme treatment and whose skin is ready for deeper structural work. DMK Muscle Banding uses an enzyme mask, applied using bands, to stimulate and contract most of your 57 facial muscles, along with your neck and décolletage, resulting in a lifted, toned and more youthful appearance.
The fan brush application technique traces specific muscle pathways across the face — not randomly, but with anatomical precision. Masque #2 acts as a muscle contractor, working the structural tissue from below. Masque #3 contains cinnamon oil, generating a deep warmth and vasodilation that tightens facial and neck contours noticeably. The combined effect is a natural lifting and firming result clients consistently describe as "Botox-like — but completely natural."
Muscle Banding requires a prior Level 1 experience because the skin must first be prepared and understood before working at this deeper structural level. Agnes decides when a client is ready to progress based on how their skin has responded to Level 1 — not on a fixed number of sessions.
Mobile service available — $150 additional fee.
What Is DMK Enzyme Therapy?
DMK Enzyme Therapy is a skin revision system developed by biochemist Danné Montague-King. It was built on one core philosophy: the skin is intelligent, and when it isn't functioning correctly, it doesn't need to be forced into change — it needs to be taught.
The treatment works by applying a specialized enzyme mask that triggers a process called reverse osmosis — physically flushing waste products out of your skin cells while delivering a surge of fresh oxygen and nutrients in. Over 45 minutes, the hardening mask contracts against your skin, creating the rhythmic pulsing sensation clients describe as their skin "working." When the mask comes off, your skin has just completed a deep, biological workout.
The result isn't a one-day glow. It's a measurable, cumulative improvement in how your skin produces collagen, regulates sebum, responds to environmental stress, and repairs itself over time.

Frequently Asked Questions — DMK Enzyme Therapy
Does DMK hurt?
It is intense but not painful. The enzyme mask hardens completely over 45 minutes, creating a strong pulsing or tightening sensation that can feel claustrophobic for some clients. It is not painful — it is your skin working. Agnes stays with you throughout and explains every sensation in real time so nothing comes as a surprise.
How many DMK sessions will I need?
Most clients notice visible improvement after the first session. For general rejuvenation, 3–4 sessions spaced 1–2 weeks apart is a typical starting series. For acne, scarring, melasma, or rosacea, a program of 6–12 sessions with consistent home care is recommended. Agnes will outline a realistic program at your consultation.
Why do I need a consultation before my first session?
DMK is a clinical system — not a standard facial. The consultation allows Agnes to assess your specific skin type, history, current medications, and concerns before designing your protocol. It also ensures the treatment is fully appropriate and safe for your skin before the first enzyme mask is applied.
Is DMK safe for dark skin tones?
Yes. Because DMK works with the skin's own biology rather than using heat, lasers, or aggressive exfoliation, it is safe and effective for all Fitzpatrick skin types including Fitzpatrick V and VI. Agnes will adapt the protocol based on your skin's specific response pattern.
What is the Plasmatic Effect and is it safe?
The Plasmatic Effect is the temporary pink and reddish capillary roadmap visible on the face after the mask is removed. It is completely safe — it is visible proof of the reverse osmosis process and the surge of fresh oxygenated blood it delivers. It fades within 20–30 minutes. Read the full explanation here.
What is the difference between DMK Level 1 and Muscle Banding?
Level 1 uses Enzyme Masque #1 to restore skin function, improve circulation, and begin the cellular revision process. Muscle Banding uses Masques #2 and #3 to physically contract and lift the 57 facial muscles, adding a structural firming and lifting dimension to the cellular work. Agnes always starts new DMK clients with Level 1 — the skin must first be prepared before Muscle Banding is appropriate. Read more about Muscle Banding here.
Can I use my regular skincare during a DMK series?
It is strongly discouraged. DMK's home care products are formulated to work transdermally in concert with the enzyme system. Introducing outside products with conflicting pH levels, synthetic fragrances, or heavy silicones can disrupt the cellular environment the sessions are creating and significantly slow results.
How is DMK different from a HydraFacial or chemical peel?
HydraFacials work on the surface through exfoliation and hydration. Chemical peels work through controlled injury to the skin. DMK works with the skin's own biological processes — no surface damage, no forced injury. It teaches the skin to function better rather than temporarily clearing it or injuring it into regeneration. The results are deeper, longer-lasting, and appropriate for a wider range of skin types.
