We were lucky to catch up with Agnes Grumslys recently and have shared our conversation below.
Agnes, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made?
Starting my own business was the best investment I’ve made for both myself and my clients. While it was a huge leap that required a big investment in both time and money, I was confident that I could deliver a different kind of experience for my clients. I’ve always believed in providing whole-body wellness and helping clients get to the root of their skincare issues so they can look and feel their best. Agnes Beauty & Wellness aims to empower our clients by incorporating a whole-body integrative approach for implementing a healthier lifestyle through schedule-friendly custom-curated skin health programs.
My spa is equipped with a facial room, in which I provide a wide range of custom facial treatments, as well as a body treatment rooms which includes an infrared sauna and roller shapers. Infrared sauna benefits include the reduction of cellulite, detoxification, relaxation, pain relief, lower blood pressure, improved circulation, skin purification, wound healing, and cell health. The roller shapers provide lymphatic drainage massage which helps stimulate lymph nodes, aids in detoxification, delivers body contouring, and helps ease chronic pain. My clients have seen great benefit in these services and as a result my monthly sauna and roller shaper packages have become very popular.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve always been interested in the beauty and wellness space and have made a career of it. I care deeply about educating my clients about skincare and their wellness journey. I help ensure my clients are equipped with the tools they need to maintain their skincare progress at home so they can achieve even better results. I consult with new clients to get a better understanding of their skin goals and provide customized recommendations based on their skin type and individual needs.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
When starting out in the industry you are trained to sell. This often includes upselling services as well as selling products, regardless of whether they will help the client achieve their skincare goals. Everyone has unique skincare needs so while a treatment or product might be amazing for one client, it could actually be detrimental to another. I pushed back against the training I had received to promote certain products or services. I embarked on my own journey of educating clients and offering custom-curated services and products that will deliver real results for them. While this is my business, it is about more than making money to me. I always have the client’s best interest at heart – it drives everything I do.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I get to know each of my clients, develop a deep understanding of their skincare and/or body goals, and work with them to develop an effective and manageable treatment plan. If during a consultation I find that the treatment a client booked isn’t the best fit for them, I explain why and provide alternative treatments that I think would help them achieve better results. My clients appreciate that I always put their needs first and often experience transformations in their confidence, health, and happiness. Not only do my clients keep coming back, but they refer my services to their friends. Walking the walk and delivering top-notch results for my clients has helped me build my reputation. It is my hope that this approach catches on and helps elevate client care in the industry.
